Senior Seminar

We realize the college application process can be overwhelming and choosing a college may seem daunting. We offer guidance to interested seniors on navigating the process and provide tips on narrowing down college choices.

During our Senior Seminar sessions, students participate in one-on-one consulting sessions with higher education professionals about their college and career aspirations. Students are encouraged to ask questions about the strength of their academic portfolio, campus life, scholarships and more! The higher education professionals involved include current and former admissions directors who can share their knowledge of the admissions process and recommend next steps based on each student’s portfolio.

To participate in these consulting sessions, students should bring a completed portfolio that includes:


  • Their high school transcript

  • SAT/ACT test scores

  • A resume or essay

  • Letters of recommendation

  • Any samples of their work (art or writing)

Note that registration is required, and time slots are limited. The sessions are held during the Showcase of HBCU in designated areas.
