Components of the Showcase

The Showcase of HBCU is a college and career preparation program that consists of
5 STUDENT COMPONENTS and 2 ADULT COMPONENTS.

STUDENT COMPONENTS

The student components are designed to provide students with a sound, accurate, and informative pre-college preparation experience. The objective is to introduce students to a vast array of career fields and allow them to network and interact with professionals.

Champions Program

The HBCU Champions Program is a school-based program designed to prepare students for the HBCU showcase college fair

Senior Seminar

The Senior Seminar is a personalized, one-on-one session providing students with the opportunity to speak with a college professional about their college and career goals.

Pre-College Conference

The Education First Pre-College Conference is a consortium of college preparatory classes.

Career Fair

The Career Fair allows students the opportunity to speak with local Kentuckiana professionals from various career fields.

College Fair

The College Fair allows students to meet college and university representatives from all across the nation.

PARENT COMPONENTS

The parent components are designed to provide parents, local educators, professionals, and community leaders with networking opportunities and information regarding the current college/education landscape.

The parent components include:

  • Urban Jazz Exchange

  • Achievement Gap Luncheon
