College Fair Volunteers

Each year, the Showcase of HBCU College and Career Fair focuses on providing college preparation information to the students of Kentuckiana.

INSTRUCTIONS

Thank you for your service to our students. Welcome to The Showcase of HBCU Virtual Experience. This registration is for volunteer registration. We are requesting your presence for the duration of the program which is five hours on the day you choose and a few practice sessions prior to the program.

We will have multiple rooms running throughout the virtual fair. During your volunteer service, you will be in a room assisting the facilitator and monitoring the room for flow, control and safety.

    Please indicate a time frame when you will be available to volunteer.


  • Volunteer Positions

    Please select a position where your time will be maximized to help provide students with the most exciting and informative pre-college preparation and HBCU experience.

  • Greeters & Guide

    Greet buses as they arrive, welcome all participants, and serve as a guide for students and adults with any questions throughout the day.

  • Registration

    cover one of two areas assigned for student and volunteer registration. Collect paperwork and make sure all students, guests, and volunteers are checked in. Collect post-test and evaluation forms. Assist with clean up.

  • Pre-College Conference Classes

    serve as room attendants, making sure that presenters are present, assist the presenter as needed, provide technical assistance (or connect with convention center assistance), and crowd control.

  • Senior Seminar

    Assist the representatives, manage time slots, make sure students have pre-registered, and make sure students portfolios are prepared.

  • Pre-Fair Preparation

    assist with preparing registration bags and other fair needs prior to November 1, 2019. This option is for those who may not be able to attend on November 1st but still want to volunteer. Date and location TBA.


  • Volunteer Registration with JCPS is also required.

    *Once you submit this form you will be redirected to the JCPS website in order to complete and submit a volunteer registration form that is required by the county.

    If you have volunteered with JCPS within the past five years, and already completed the volunteer registration form than you will not need to complete a new background check.
